There are Encaustic Angels Among Us.

I will be teaching a workshop by that name at TBTB, in a few days. Those twelve students are in for a journey of healing and growth.

Maybe I’ll start by telling them how I had always wanted to be a nutritionist, and not just an artist. But as I consumed nutrition, studied nutrition, ate, drank and slept nutrition, I realized that your healing has to come from somewhere else. That has become a strong message of mine.

I realized that you can only be physically well by going through the process of shedding the old and growing into the new self (that you’ve had waiting for you all along). But recognizing that self and growing into it is such a process, sometimes you don’t feel you’ll survive it! But your old self actually will kill you if you don’t grow a new self.

You must heal your foundation- your spirit- your soul, and go through the growth that God has for you. And, by the way, you can be healed and still appear in a wheelchair. You can tell when a person is whole. They become a healer themselves.

So it appears that my path will have me creating and teaching art before I can go back to studying nutrition, because I have a message on the order of healing: the soul must be healed before the body can heal.

Let’s unleash our creativity which will awaken the growth of our true selves- the being you are meant to be. Somehow there is a key- that is turned- in the creating of art, that unlocks our growth and sets our healing in motion.

In Encaustic Angels Among Us, the students can choose to take their mixed media art piece a bit further than just a jewelry object. If they choose, they can meditate on the thing they want to heal most about themselves, and then write down the affirmation for that healing (chosen from a handout) onto a slip of paper and embed it into the wax to let the Encaustic Angel guard it, hold a key over it. Being a pendant, of course, we’ll wear it right over our heart.

Our healing, entrapped in the wax..the wax holding the vibration of our healing…our hearts absorbing the vibration…our healing- through affirmation, art and Encaustic Angels Among Us.
